Since 1978, the Lake
Havasu City Fire Department has provided advanced cardiac life
support (ACLS) service to approximately 50 square miles of city
and county land. Since the acquisition of our fireboat in 1996,
the department also provides service to the Colorado River's
many recreational users from Davis Dam down to Parker Dam. The department's minimum standards provide for a single
tiered response of at least one certified emergency paramedic
and two EMT basics to respond to over 6234 emergencies a year,
with 4438 of those calls involving EMS.
The department
continually strives to evaluate and improve our emergency
medical service. We are proud of the hard work, professionalism,
and dedication our EMTs and paramedics have shown, as the
department strictly adheres to the standards and recommendations
that are set by the national, regional, state, and local
entities.
With the coordination,
cooperation, and extra efforts made by the Lake Havasu City Fire
Department, Havasu Regional Medical Center, and River Medical
Ambulance Service, Lake Havasu City's emergency medical services
work fast, efficient, and with the highest level of care.
