Our mission is to assist all departments in recruitment, selection, retention, and training programs, and promote and foster cooperative relationships throughout the city and community through effective and innovative human resources policies and procedures.

Lake Havasu City employs approximately 449 full time employees and 100 part-time employees in several departments and offices throughout the city. Through the development and implementation of citywide personnel policies and procedures, the department assists other city departments in acquiring, developing and retaining high-quality employees.

Vacancies: Classified positions may be filled from an established eligibility list. Executive and unclassified positions do not require posting.

Probation: Each employee selected for a classified position must satisfactorily serve an established probationary period.

Pay Increases: Executive and classified employees are eligible for consideration for increase based on individual performance.

Residency Requirement: All employees of Lake Havasu City must establish and maintain residence within a reasonable radius of the workplace.

Employment Eligibility Verification (EEV) Program: Lake Havasu City participates in E-Verify and will require documentation of the legal right to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act upon hire.

Starting Salary: New employees will normally be hired at the first step of their salary range.
