During the above investigation, Lake Havasu City Police Department detectives became involved in a second burglary investigation relating to several storage units in the 3300 block of Sweetwater Avenue. Stolen items included several firearms. The investigation led to the service of a burglary-related search warrant of a separate storage unit within the same facility. Burglary tools and other items of evidence linking that storage unit to the burglaries were recovered.

Detectives and Lake Havasu City Police SWAT team then served a second search warrant related to this investigation in the 3000 block of Sombrero Drive. This location is the residence of the individual leasing the storage unit where the first search warrant was served. Three stolen firearms and a stolen coin collection, along with narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia, were recovered at the residence. The resident, Troy Morse (28), of Lake Havasu City, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, possession of stolen property, tampering with evidence, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
