COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY SET FOR DECEMBER 2
The 27th
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in Wheeler Park on Sunday,
December 2 at 6 p.m.
McCulloch
Boulevard will be blocked from Capri to Riviera at 4 p.m. to prepare for the
events and provide a safe crossing for children and other participants. The Colomonde
Chorus will sing Christmas carols and conduct a community sing-a-long.
Council
Member David McAtlin will throw the switch to light the community tree, which
was donated in 1979 by Jim Carr and Ed Frederico. Hot Cocoa with marshmallows will be served
through the generosity of Tri-State Pageant.
As always,
Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck, so be sure to bring a camera as children
will have the opportunity to offer Santa their gift requests in person.
