Third Annual Fire Truck Tug to Benefit Special Olympics
The Professional Fire
Fighters Association, F.O.P. Lodge 47, local law enforcement, the Lake Havasu
City Parks and Recreation Department and the Kiwanis clubs of Lake Havasu
invite everyone to participate in the third annual Fire
Truck Tug to benefit Special Olympics.
This year’s tug will again be held in conjunction with Family Safety Day
on September 29 at the south end of Rotary Community Park.
What
is a Fire Truck Tug? The
Lake Havasu City Fire Department has donated the use of a real fire truck. The truck will be at the
Three
categories of teams:
Males
up to 8 members
Females up to 10 members.
Co-ed
- Five one gender and four the other.
Registration: $100 per team. Money may be raised several ways (teams can
have members pay; teams can find a sponsor; or conduct fundraisers). Registration may be done the day of the
event. All proceeds go to Lake Havasu
City Special Olympics.
What
is Family Safety Day? Family Safety Day is a free family event in which
the Annual Bike Rodeo and the Fire Truck Tug have been combined.
What
activities are there? Along
with the fire truck tug, there is a bicycle obstacle course, free bike
registration & licensing, child car seat safety checks and installation,
airbrush tattoos, bike-board-razor competitions, bike giveaways, bounce house,
free hotdogs, chips, drinks and more. Registration for the bmx-board-razor
competitions is required. Please call
