Lake Havasu City
Police Department detectives are investigating an apparent homicide that they
believe occurred sometime around 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 10. The body of a Caucasian man believed to be in
his late thirties was discovered in a home in the 1700-block of South Palo
Verde Boulevard. Detectives believe the
victim lives at the address and his identity is currently withheld pending a
positive identification by family. The
victim’s body was discovered while officers were investigating what they
believe to be a related incident that resulted in the arrest of 31-year-old
Bryan Macbean of Desert Hills.
Macbean
was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer (felony)
after he allegedly kicked an officer attempting to take him into custody. Residents in the area reported Macbean was acting erratically, going from house to house,
banging on doors, throwing rocks and damaging property. Officers responded to the call at
approximately 8:20 a.m. and arrived to find Macbean
in the street attempting to stop motorists traveling on South Palo Verde
Boulevard. Macbean
was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center due to his extreme behavior
and the possibility that the man was under the influence of dangerous
substance(s). He was released from the
hospital later in the day and booked into the Lake Havasu City jail
facility. The homicide victim’s body was
found inside the open door of the residence as officers searched the area
looking for additional damage that Macbean may have
caused. Circumstances surrounding the
incident lead investigators to believe the two men were acquainted, however,
the nature of their relationship, if any, is under investigation at this time
and may result in
additional charges. Additional
information will be released as it becomes available.
