The Lake Havasu City
Police Department has released the identity of the victim of a homicide that
occurred Wednesday morning. The victim
is identified as Todd Chapman, age 37.
Chapman occupied the residence where his body was found in the 1700
block of South Palo Verde Boulevard. The
official cause of death has not been released; however, detectives stated the
injuries are consistent with being beaten and stabbed. Two possible weapons were located at the
scene.
Bryan Robert Macbean, 31, reportedly confessed to the killing during
questioning. Macbean
has been charged with first degree murder and he is being held without
bond. Macbean was
initially arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and
is held on $50,000 bond for that felony offense.
Investigation revealed
the two men have been acquainted for approximately six years. Macbean used to
live with his parents in the neighborhood and visited Chapman on occasion. Reports indicate the men had argued early
Wednesday morning.
Additional information
will be released as it becomes available.
