The Lake Havasu City Fire
Department responded to report of a fire in a single family residence at 2220
Shorewood Drive at 2:16 p.m. Friday, November 16. Firefighters located the fire in a rear bedroom
and extinguished it in approximately six minutes. One of the reported nine occupants of the
home, a man estimated in his late forties, was treated by paramedics at the
scene for possible smoke inhalation and transported to Havasu Regional Medical
Center. Electric power to the home was
disrupted and the occupants are displaced pending a safety inspection and
clearance by fire inspectors and building officials.
No damage estimates are available
at this time; however, the damage appears to be limited to the bedroom and its
contents. Police Department personnel
assisted four engine companies, one truck company and
three command personnel at the scene.
Four members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) provided
support for the firefighters.
The cause of the fire is currently
under investigation.
