Residential Fire
At approximately 5 p.m. Monday, October 8, the occupants of a
home located in the 2000-block of Indian Pipe Drive reported a strong odor of
smoke coming from a fan in the bathroom. The fire department responded to investigate
and found a small fire in the attic. The
fire was brought under control at approximately 5:30 p.m. Three fire engines, one ladder truck and a
Battalion Chief responded to the scene. The
fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damage to the structure and its contents. The fire was caused by an overheated
ventilation fan in the bathroom. There
were no injuries reported, and the occupants were not displaced.
