ANNUAL FOG SEAL PROGRAM
TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES
The Lake
Havasu City Street Maintenance Division is scheduling street sealing activities
in the Indain Peak and Southwind Sewer Areas.
Application of the street sealing material is scheduled to begin at 8
a.m. Tuesday, April 24 and is expected to conclude by early afternoon each work
day. Applying a fog seal to the street’s
surface is an efficient and effective method of extending the life of asphalt
pavement. The material is applied to a
single traffic lane in each direction each day until all lanes are completed. The street sealing material takes
approximately four hours to dry completely and flyers will be distributed at
least 24 hours prior to the work taking place.
Motorists
traveling on a street being sealed should anticipate minor delays due to the
construction activities. Motorists
should avoid driving between the cones in order to cross the seal coat as
damage may occur. When the traffic
control devices have been removed, the new surface is ready for use.
Motorists are
advised to use alternative routes whenever possible. As always, the public is requested to use
caution and follow all traffic signs when traveling through construction zones.
