Accident
Reports Now Available Online
In order to reduce the
inconvenience and to better serve the public, the Lake Havasu City Police
Department has implemented a new online process for obtaining copies of
accident reports. By employing cutting-edge technology provided by Police
Reports. US, LLC, citizens and insurers can now access accident reports from
any computer via the internet, eliminating the need to travel to the Lake
Havasu City Police Department or request a report by mail.
While accident reports will
still be available from the Records Section of the Lake Havasu City Police
Department, we are pleased to be able to offer the public the convenience of
using this new, user friendly, online method. Starting, Wednesday, October 3,
accident reports generated on September 1, 2007, or after, can be accessed
through the Police Report eCommerce Link
(http://lakehavasuaz.policereports.us).
To search for a report, users
can enter the date of accident, the report number, driver’s name or location of
accident. The report can be printed immediately, at home or at the office.
Should a person require a report prior to September 1, 2007, they can still
retrieve it electronically by calling the Lake Havasu City Police Department
Records Section at (928) 855-1171. The report can then be uploaded to the web
site within one business day in most cases.
Because this is a
self-service feature, available anytime of the day or week, members of the
public should expend less time and effort to obtain the reports they need. Electronic distribution of accident reports online
will allow the Lake Havasu City Police Department to provide a higher level of
customer service. Citizens will be able
to obtain reports online (normally within 48 hours of the accident). The charge
for this service is $10.00 per report and is payable by major credit card or
debit card, as well as by account through PoliceReports.US, LLC.
