The Lake Havasu City Parks and
Recreation Department and the Arizona Physicians Independent Providers
Association have joined forces to keep Lake Havasu City children safe in and
around the water this summer. The
physicians’ organization provided a grant to enable the first 100 children who
visit the Aquatic Center on Sundays to swim free in a safe, supervised
environment.
“Thanks to this organization, the
first 100 children attending open swim on Sundays get in free,” said Swan
Cooke, Management Specialist for the Aquatic Center. “But this Sunday, everyone gets in
free and the AZIPA will be here with giveaways and prizes to make it even more
fun.”
Cooke said this Sunday’s free swim
event will take place from noon until 4 p.m. and the whole family is
invited. This event is to celebrate the
success of the Summer Sunday Swim Free program.
The Aquatic Center offers a variety of levels of swim lessons for children of all ages all year long. Swan Cooke may be reached at the Aquatic Center 453-8686.
