Man Charged in Pipe Bomb Incident
Lake Havasu City Police have arrested Stacy Hakes, 23, in
connection with what police believe to be a pipe bomb that was located in his
vehicle Monday October 29. Hakes is charged with felony misconduct involving weapons in
reference to the pipe bomb incident. Police
believe Hakes was driving the truck when it spun out of control on South
McCulloch Boulevard. Witnesses told
police a man matching Hakes’ general description fled the scene prior to police
arrival. Hakes turned himself in to the Police Department Wednesday evening.
Hakes is also charged with reckless driving
and criminal speeding in regards to the non-injury vehicle accident. Following his initial appearance Thursday
November 1, Hakes was remanded to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriffs
Office where he is currently held on $15,000 bond.
