Holding Facility

Lake Havasu City Police Department's prisoner process and 24 hour holding facility is located within the Police Department building at 2360 McCulloch Boulevard, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, (928) 885-1171. The holding facility has 18 single-bunk housing cells, two holding cell areas, and state-of-the-art computerized fingerprinting equipment. Last year eight detention officers booked, processed, housed, and transported to the courts over 4,300 prisoners for an average of approximately 12 prisoners per day. In addition to daily temporary bookings, the facility also provides housing and supervision for the Lake Havasu Consolidated Courts Work Release Program. During 2007 the LHCPD facility housed and managed 1,891 male and female DUI prisoners for a total of 2,006 sentenced days.

Court Appearance

Prisoners are transported within 24 hours of their arrest for their initial court appearance to the Consolidated Courts located in the Mohave County Building at 2001 College Drive, Lake Havasu City, Arizona (928) 453-0705. Initial court appearances are held at the Consolidated Court Building Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. and the Lake Havasu City Police Department on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays at 8:00 a.m. Prisoners unable to post a bond will remain in the holding facility until their initial court appearance. Prisoners arrested for felony charges and/or misdemeanor domestic violence charges cannot be bonded prior to their initial court appearance.

The judge will release, require/set a bond, or remand the prisoner to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff. Prisoners with a bond and/or remanded to the Sheriff will be transported and turned over to the Mohave County Sheriff's Substation, 3500 North Highway 95, Lake Havasu City, Arizona (928) 764-3535. Prisoners who are ordered released by the court will be returned to the LHCPD holding facility for processing and release.

Bail Bond

Full bond amount for each charge in the form of cash or bail bond will only be accepted at the front counter of the Lake Havasu Police Department. Credit card bonding can only be processed at the Lake Havasu Consolidated Court during non-holiday business hours. The bonding company must be certified and approved by the Mohave County Superior Court clerk. A list of acceptable certified bond agencies is available at the holding facility. Lake Havasu City Police Department employees are prohibited from endorsing or recommending any specific bail bond agency.
