committee to the Chief of Police with the goal of reducing the
fear of crime and enhancing the quality of life for Lake Havasu
City's senior citizen population. The committee organizes
periodic Community Forums with the intent of informing senior
citizens of the various local services available to them. The
programs have ranged from telemarketing schemes to explaining
the differences between living wills, power of attorneys,
conservator and guardianship.

services that are available for seniors. The directory has
contact information for Adult Day Care, Case Management,
counseling, Financial Assistance, Home Care, Legal Services,
Long Term Care, Nutrition, Support Groups and more. The
directory is extremely helpful to caregivers or family members
that are living outside the Lake Havasu area and are not
familiar with what assistance might be available. The directory
is available free of charge and can be found at many community
and city offices in Lake Havasu. We would be glad to mail a
directory to you.
"File of Life":
The "File of
Life" packet is a magnetic pouch that contains a two sided card.
The pouch is placed on the refrigerator in plain view in case of
an emergency. The card inside the pouch contains valuable
information about your health needs and provides contact
information for family members or friends. A highly visible
sticker is placed on or near the front door to alert the
emergency responders that the information card is available. The
"File of Life" packet also contains a small wallet size copy of
the information card to be carried by you or placed in your
vehicle.
The Lake Havasu
Police Department works with the Lake Havasu City Hospital
auxiliary who has provided funding for the packets and is the
main distributor. "File of Life" packets can be picked up at the
Lake Havasu City Police Department or by contacting the Hospital
auxiliary at telephone number (928) 855-8185.
