The Lake Havasu City Municipal Court operates as the independent judicial branch of government established by the constitution of the State of Arizona under the direct supervision of the Arizona Supreme Court for Lake Havasu City.

The Lake Havasu City Municipal Court handles cases that range from minor traffic violations to class one misdemeanors. The Court handles Criminal misdemeanors, Criminal Traffic/DUI, Civil Traffic, Civil Offense, Petty Offenses, Local Ordinances, and water violations. Additional Court provided services are search warrants, record searches, weddings, notary, a law library, protection orders, and Problem-Solving Courts.

The Lake Havasu City Problem-Solving Courts consist of Youth Court and Veterans Treatment Court. The Youth and Veterans Treatment Courts have made significant and measurable differences in their participants’ lives by assisting with treatment and peer support programs that promote sobriety, recovery, and stability. The Youth and Veterans Treatment Court has been proven to reduce recidivism among its participants, which has benefited the Lake Havasu City community and the criminal justice system.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Lobby Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Closed on Holidays)

Scheduled Hearings are held Monday through Friday as reflected on the Court calendar

The following matters can be seen by a Judge without a schedule hearing during business hours 

  • Orders of Protection
  • Injunction Against Harassment
  • Early Arraignments
  • Warrants
  • Jail commitments
  • Public Defender requests

All other requests may submitted in writing by email, fax, mail, or in person

COURTHOUSE REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS

  • No firearms or weapons are permitted in the building
  • No food or open drink containers are allowed in the Courtroom
  • Cell phones must be silenced or off while in the Courtroom
  • All Proceedings are electronically recorded. Audio/Video recording is prohibited without prior approval
  • No children under 14 years of age allowed in a courtroom without prior approval
  • The following items are prohibited to wear in the courthouse
    • Hats
    • Sunglasses
    • Swim suits
    • Gang or drug affiliated clothing
    • Shirts with profanity written on them
    • Offensive symbols/images
    • Any other attire deemed inappropriate by the Court
