Bureau of Land Management and Lake Havasu City Partner Again for National Public Lands Day
September 14, 2018

To celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD), Lake Havasu City is joining the Bureau of Land Management to make improvements at the trails and trailhead at SARA Park, September 29, 2018, from 8am to 10am.

Interested volunteers are welcome, but must register and complete the volunteer process to participate. Tasks include signing trails, painting, trash clean-up, shoveling and moving small and large rocks, and other maintenance and repair to help identify the three main trails at the trailhead. An educational display area will allow various organizations to answer questions and provide information about the trailhead and trails will be on site.

To register for the event, please visit the City website at www.lhcaz.gov/volunteers, click “Register to Volunteer” to open the form and select “Community Beautification” as the area of interest. After completing the registration form, you will receive an email to begin the volunteer process.

Pre-registration must be submitted in the system, no later than Friday, September 21, 2018. Those who show up without pre-registering are welcome to enjoy the SARA Park trails, and education booths, but will not be able to participate in the maintenance work of the National Public Lands Day event at the trailhead.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance public lands. Join Lake Havasu City and Bureau of Land Management officials and thousands of other Americans across the country in the celebration. Everyone benefits from public lands, and National Public Lands Day is a great opportunity for citizens to give back to the community and spend time outdoors.

Register today before the deadline! For more information, contact Jerri Bracamonte at (928) 453-4141.
