Lake Havasu City Mayor Mark S. Nexsen was just as surprised as our residents that Lake Havasu City would be offered as a vacation package during last night’s 90^th Academy Awards Ceremony. He said any publicity is good publicity and responds to their favorable mention.

“Our residents appreciate that Jimmy Kimmel thought of Lake Havasu City when he offered a free trip to our beautiful community to the winner of his shortest speech contest during the 90^th Academy Awards Ceremony. I would like to invite all the losers at the Oscars to come visit us as well. I will even make time in my schedule to take a picture with them as a memento.  When they visit us they will soon realize why we are the $2 million grand prize winner of the America’s Best Community contest. After all, we are the home of the London Bridge, spectacular boating and beaches, the World Jet Ski finals, beautiful parks, world class fishing, very friendly people and so much more.”
