Mayor Nexsen Seeks Citizen Support in National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation
April 04, 2018

Mayor Mark S. Nexsen joins the Wyland National Mayor’s Water Conservation competition called “My Water Pledge” for the third year in a row and seeks citizen support to take the pledge to save water at www.mywaterpledge.com on behalf of Lake Havasu City between April 1 through April 30. My Water Pledge is a friendly competition between cities across the US to see who can be the most “water-wise.” Mayors nationwide challenge their residents to conserve water, energy and other natural resources on behalf of their city through a series of informative, easy-to-use pledges online.

Last year, Lake Havasu City placed 8th in its population category which was the highest placement the City has received to date. This year, Mayor Nexsen hopes to see that number reach 1st place to show the Nation that Lake Havasu City recognizes the need to conserve water, and that we as a city support actions to decrease our pressure on the Colorado River water supply.

Lake Havasu City takes pride in both the preservation and conservation of natural resources, and supports the influential mission of the Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation. As a desert community located along one of the most endangered rivers in the United States, we recognize the immeasurable importance of water conservation not only for our City, but also for the millions of Americans that depend on the limited, precious resource that sits in our backyard; the Colorado River.

By pledging to save water, citizens not only unite for a great cause, but are also eligible to win hundreds of prizes provided by the Wyland National Mayor’s Water Conservation Challenge.

Please join Lake Havasu City to conserve water. For more information contact Lake Havasu City’s Water Conservation Specialist, Briana Morgan, at MorganB@lhcaz.gov or 928-854-0880.
