Residential Structure Fire
February 22, 2018

At approximately 9:20 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, a citizen reported a possible fire in the 3000 block of Roadrunner Drive.  The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the carport, the backside of the residence, and the attic. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded on the initial assignment. The incident was upgraded to a second alarm when fire crews found several areas inside the residence on fire. The fire was under control within 40 minutes.

The occupants were not home at the time of the fire.  One firefighter sustained minor injuries when a portion of the ceiling fell on him.  CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters.  Crews remained on the scene for several hours conducting salvage operations.  The inside of the residence sustained major smoke and fire damage. The cause of fire is under investigation by both the Fire and Police Departments.
