On January 2, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a motel room in the 300 block of London Bridge Road for a report of subjects trespassing. During the trespassing investigation, officers contacted three subjects and observed items of illegal drug paraphernalia in plain view.  The motel room was secured pending a search warrant.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., a search warrant was served by detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET).  During the service of the search warrant, several grams of methamphetamine and marijuana were located, as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia associated with the sale of illegal drugs. 

As a result of the investigation, Sarah N. Jarrett, a 23-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.  Jarrett was additionally charged with introduction of contraband into a jail facility after being found to be concealing a small pocket knife on her person.  During her initial appearances, Jarrett was held on a $50,000 bond.  

Rick Varner, a 50-year-old Phoenix resident, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to comply warrant.  Varner was additionally charged with introduction of contraband into a jail facility after being found to be concealing a small metal container with marijuana on his person.  During his initial appearance, Varner was held on a $50,000 bond.

Jorge Suarez, a 44-year-old Phoenix resident, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.  During his initial appearance, Suarez was held on a $1,000 bond.

All three subjects were transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
