Vice Mayor Jeni Coke and Councilmembers Donna McCoy, David Lane, and Gordon Groat presented a proclamation to U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Hudson in honor of the upcoming U.S. Army’s 242^nd Birthday, June 14, 2017. On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress, representing the citizens of 13 American colonies, authorized the establishment of the Continental Army. The motto of “Duty, Honor, Country” is the creed by which the American soldier lives and serves. Happy birthday U.S. Army!
