ARREST MADE IN HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION

On October 28, 2021, at approximately 5:18 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Maverick Drive for a reported hit and run accident involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived on scene and found a 59-year old female lying in the roadway, and the suspect vehicle had fled the scene. The female suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She was later flown to a Las Vegas hospital for further treatment and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

Members of the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team investigated this collision and determined that the suspect vehicle was a Dodge Dakota, silver or gray in color. On October 29, 2021, the suspect vehicle, a 2001 Gray Dodge Dakota was located in the 100 block of Acoma Boulevard North and seized for additional investigation.

On November 4, 2021, the driver of this Dodge Dakota, identified as 45-year old Lake Havasu City resident Anthony Estrada, was arrested without incident as a result of the investigation.

Anthony Estrada is being charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident resulting in serious injury and Driving on a Suspended License. Estrada is currently being held at the Lake Havasu City Police Department Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
