On Wednesday, September 23, at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a vehicle crash on SR 95 near Acoma Boulevard South. During the investigation, it was determined that the male driver of a 2010 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on SR 95 in the right lane and had just passed the Acoma Boulevard South intersection when he rear-ended a 1994 Harley Davidson Motorcycle occupied by a male operator and female passenger, who were also traveling south in the right lane.

As a result of the collision, both riders of the Harley Davidson were ejected off the motorcycle. The female passenger of the Harley Davidson was struck by the Honda Civic after ejection, and was then struck by a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, which was also traveling southbound on SR 95.

The female passenger, identified as 65-year-old Quartzite, Arizona, resident Lydia Perkins, was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The male operator of the Harley Davidson motorcycle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The male drivers of the Honda Civic and Toyota Tacoma were uninjured.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team responded to the accident scene to conduct the investigation. SR 95 was closed for several hours from Acoma Boulevard South to Oro Grande Boulevard during the investigation and the Arizona Department of Transportation responded to assist with the closure.
