SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR
October 29, 2020

Over the past several months Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit have been conducting an investigation of sexual exploitation of a minor after receiving information from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) indicating that known pornographic images of children have been flagged to a potential residence in Lake Havasu City.

On October 27, 2020, after pinpointing an exact location, Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3100 block of Desert View Court where the suspect was residing. During the search warrant, multiple items of electronic media were located and seized as part of the investigation. The suspect, 36-year old Lake Havasu City resident Daniel P. Weidner was subsequently arrested at a separate location in Lake Havasu City.

As a result of this investigation, Daniel P. Weidner was charged with five (5) counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. During his initial appearance, Weidner was held on a $50,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lake Havasu City Police Department.
