The Swanson Avenue downtown improvement project in Lake Havasu City is scheduled for completion in September. As crews wrap up the project, the Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for what should be the last restrictions: 

Swanson Avenue east of Smoketree Avenue and west of Acoma Boulevard will be closed for final construction from 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9, to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, and from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13.

ADOT will maintain business access at all times. Detour signage is in place providing direction to businesses and local streets throughout the project area. 

The city began improving Swanson Avenue in May. ADOT is administering the project. The upgrades include reconstructing the area between the intersections of Acoma Boulevard and Smoketree Avenue and building a new multi-use path and bicycle lane.
