TWO ARRESTED FOR DRUG OFFENSES

On December 22, 2021 at approximately 10:28 p.m. officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit made a civil traffic stop in the 2900 block of Jamaica Blvd. While talking with the driver, officers utilized Lake Havasu City Police Department’s K-9 “Rocky” to perform an open-air sniff around the vehicle. As a result, K-9 “Rocky” alerted on the odor of narcotic drugs inside the vehicle.

Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered approximately 400 suspected fentanyl pills, 5 grams of methamphetamines, $556.00 in US currency, miscellaneous packaging material, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun. The street value of the 400 fentanyl pills is estimated to be $4,000.00.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year old Cameron Mackey, and 32-year old Jeremy Carney, both Lake Havasu City residents, were arrested.

Cameron Mackey was charged with possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, misconduct involving weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. During his initial appearance he was held on a $10,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office

Jeremy Carney was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. During his initial appearance, he was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.
