There is currently no application deadline date. Applications will continue to be accepted for any current and/or future vacancies and will be kept on file for up to one (1) year.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Certain requirements must be met, and steps taken to serve on a Lake Havasu City board or commission. If you are interested in serving on a City board or commission please download the application. You can print the application and mail to the City Clerk's office at the address below or email the application. Applications are accepted at any time throughout the year and are kept on file in the City Clerk’s Office for up to one (1) year should the board or commission you are interested in serving not have a current vacancy at the time of filing your application*.

*Please note: Deadlines to submit applications for current or upcoming vacancies are posted on the City’s website. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the City Clerk’s office.

INITIAL APPOINTMENTS AND REAPPOINTMENTS

Applications for appointment to City boards and commissions are brought before the City Council as a public hearing item.  Applications will be reviewed and scheduled for interview before the Application Review Panel who will provide a recommendation(s) of appointment to the City Council. The City Clerk’s office will inform all applicants of their scheduled interview date and City Council meeting date when their application will be considered. All applicants are encouraged to attend the City Council meeting to answer any questions from the City Council.

The Airport Advisory Board consists of seven regular members and three alternate members, and is responsible to provide citizen input to the City Council for the improvement of the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport to ensure continued fiscal health, prosperity, and the common good of all citizens of Lake Havasu City.

At least six of the members must be qualified electors and full-time residents of Lake Havasu City for a minimum of one year prior to appointment. One member need not be a resident, but must have resided in the area served by the Airport for not less than one year prior to appointment.

The Airport Advisory Board meetings are open to the public and held on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Police Department, City Council Chambers.

The Board of Adjustment consists of seven regular members, and three alternate members, and is responsible to hear and decide variance requests and appeals of the Zoning Administrator relative to zoning development within parameters established by state law.

Members must be residents of Lake Havasu City and be at least 18 years of age.

The Board meets on an as-needed basis in regular and special meetings at the Police Department, City Council Chambers.

    COMMUNITY RESOURCE COALITION

    The Community Resource Coalition consists of five regular members and two alternate members, and is responsible to develop a community resources request and evaluation process, evaluate funding requests received, and recommend funding distributions to the City Council to assist with disbursing funding for community resources purposes in the areas of food, housing, medical services, agency services, childcare, senior adult care, senior services, housing, or other social service needs.

    Members must be residents of Lake Havasu City and be at least 18 years of age.

    The Public Safety Retirement System Board is composed of two citizens and two fire and police employee elected members and is chaired by the Mayor. Two citizen members are appointed by City Council and should possess a background or have knowledge of public safety benefit plans.

    The Board meets to review applications for enrollment and retirement on an as-needed basis, approximately once a month, and may also schedule special meetings throughout the year as necessary.

    The Board meetings are open to the public and held at City Hall.
