LIQUOR LICENSES

Liquor License applications are available at the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.

After your application has been accepted by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, a copy will be sent to the Lake Havasu City Clerk’s Office.  The City has 60 days to make a recommendation of approval, disapproval, or no recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.

The City Clerk’s office will send the applicant a letter requesting payment for application, posting, and State fingerprint background fees.  Pursuant to Lake Havasu City Ordinance No. 13-1101, it will also be necessary for the applicant to be fingerprinted by the Lake Havasu City Police Department.  To schedule an appointment for fingerprinting, contact the Police Department.

Following receipt of the required fees, the Police Department will post notice of an Application to Sell Alcoholic Beverages on the premises.  This notice must be posted on the premises for 20 days.

Pursuant to Lake Havasu City Code §5.04.020, every person desiring to engage in business within the city shall make application to the Administrative Services Director or designee for a business license.  Business license applications are available by contacting the Administrative Services Department or at the link below.

A letter will be sent to the applicant informing them of the City Council meeting date at which their application will be considered.  In conformance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 4-201(G), it is recommended that the applicant appear at this meeting.

Following the approval, disapproval or no recommendation decision by the Lake Havasu City Council, staff will send the recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control who will make a final recommendation on the application.

SPECIAL EVENT LIQUOR LICENSES

Special Event Liquor License Applications are available through the Special Events Coordinator or at the link below.

TEMPORARY/PERMANENT EXTENSION OF PREMISE LICENSES

Permanent/Temporary Extension of Premises applications are available from the City Clerk’s office or the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control website.

Applicant must submit the completed application form and a site map of the area to be extended to the City Clerk’s office along with payment to Lake Havasu City, 30 days prior to the event.

The form must be signed by the liquor license agent or business owner.

If the application is for a temporary extension of premises, please note the date(s) and hours of the extension request. If the application is for a permanent extension of premises, please contact the Lake Havasu Community Services Department for their review.

Once review of your application is complete, the City Clerk’s office will submit a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control who will make the final recommendation on the application.

BINGO LICENSES

Bingo Licenses are regulated by the Arizona Department of Revenue Bingo Section.  For applications, rules, and regulations regarding Bingo Licenses please contact the Arizona Department of Revenue, Bingo Licensing.

Applicants must submit the completed application form to the City Clerk’s office along with a payment to Lake Havasu City, 60 days prior to the event.
