At approximately 10:50 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Lake Havasu City Fire Department units, along with the Lake Havasu City Police Department, were dispatched to a reported medical emergency for a burn patient in the 1800 block of Mesquite Avenue. The 911 caller's information added that the patient was inside a hyperbaric chamber when the burns occurred. Due to 911 caller information, the response was upgraded to a commercial fire response to ensure adequate resources responded to provide medical care and mitigate the emergency.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, a house fire was reported by occupants and neighbors in the 2400 block of Angler Drive. The first arriving fire company found the garage fully engulfed in flames, with two vehicles inside. Five engine companies, one medic unit, and a Battalion Chief responded and were able to bring the fire under control within 27 minutes. The fire was contained in the garage, with only minor smoke damage reported inside the home. A loud explosion in the garage alerted the occupants, who were home at the time, allowing them to evacuate safely.

City offices are closed, and the Coffee with the Mayor and City Manager is paused on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Police and Fire Department services remain unaffected. However, administrative offices, transit operations, and the Aquatic Center are closed. All City offices resume normal schedules on Monday, July 7. Trash and recycling schedules are not interrupted.

Lake Havasu City continues vital street improvements with several nighttime paving and milling operations scheduled for next week from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., between Thursday, June 26, and Thursday, July 3, 2025, to minimize traffic impacts. These enhancements are part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve roadway conditions and ensure long-term safety for residents and visitors.

As part of the Mesquite Avenue paving improvement project, Querio Drive is closed to through traffic on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A Truth in Taxation notice is published to inform Lake Havasu City property owners of the City’s proposed property tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year. Lake Havasu City is proposing that the property tax rate remain unchanged from the previous year.
