On June 23, 2016, at approximately 3:56 a.m., detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) conducted a drug related search warrant at a motel in the 2100 block of Birch Square. The search warrant was the result of an on-going drug investigation.

Officers located and seized approximately 4.7 grams of methamphetamine, several prescription pills, a large machete, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Arrested during the search warrant were 46-year-old Donald Laughlin and 35-year-old Brandi Collins. Both are residents of Lake Havasu City. 

Donald Laughlin was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misconduct involving weapons.

Brandi Collins was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During their initial appearances, Laughlin was held on a $40,000 bond and Collins was held on a $20,000 bond.
