ARREST MADE IN ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION

On July 15, 2023, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a business in the 1600 block of McCulloch Boulevard North for a reported armed robbery. During the initial investigation, officers determined that a white male wearing a black shirt, black shorts, black hat, and sunglasses entered the business and demanded money from the employee after displaying a firearm. The male then exited the store with a sizable amount of cash and left the scene in a white truck in an unknown direction.

Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene to investigate this incident. With the assistance of the department’s Street Crimes Unit, the suspect in this case was identified as 33-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Jacob Blanchard.

On July 15, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Jacob Blanchard was observed in the area of Acoma Boulevard North and Palo Verde Boulevard South in a white Chevrolet truck and taken into custody without incident. On the same date, the LHCPD SWAT Team served a search warrant on a residence in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. During the search warrant, Investigators located evidence of the armed robbery within the residence and the truck that Blanchard was driving.

As a result of the investigation, Blanchard was arrested for Armed Robbery. During his initial appearance, he was held on a $25,000.00 secured bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
