July 12, 2023

The Lake Havasu City Fire & Police Departments are urging residents and visitors to take precautions as temperatures are expected to reach unsafe levels in the coming days.

The National Weather Service has predicated a prolonged period of excessive heat in Lake Havasu City and the surrounding areas. Residents and visitors are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this hazardous weather condition.

To stay safe during extreme heat, it is important to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and seek out air-conditioned spaces whenever possible. Additionally, it is crucial to check on elderly neighbors and family members, as they are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses. Please remember to never leave children or pets in parked vehicles, as the interior temperatures can quickly reach lethal levels.

If anyone needs relief from the heat, they should consider visiting public places or call the City’s non-emergency phone number (928-855-4111) for assistance. By taking these precautions, residents and visitors can stay safe and healthy during this period of extreme heat.

The Lake Havasu City Fire & Police Departments, along with other relevant agencies, will be closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
