FATAL CRASH INVESTIGATION
May 05, 2023

On April 30th, 2023, at approximately 1:35 P.M., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 95 at the Palo Verde South Intersection where a 2017 Hyundai Accent and a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado collided head-on.

Upon officers’ arrival, the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 93-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Jack Snelgrove was unresponsive and extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, later succumbing to his injuries. The passenger of the Chevrolet was also transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.

During the crash investigation, it was determined that the Chevrolet was traveling north on Highway 95 in the through lane of traffic, and the Hyundai was traveling south, also in the through lane of traffic. The driver of the Hyundai was executing an improper left turn, at which time the two vehicles collided.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor, and the incident remains under investigation. The decedent’s family has been notified.
