GARAGE FIRE

At approximately 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, a fire was reported in the 3300 block of Thunderhead Drive. A neighbor observed smoke coming from a closed garage door and immediately notified the occupants, while others notified dispatch.

The first arriving fire company reported a heavily involved garage fire. Four engine companies and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident and brought the fire under control within 11 minutes, successfully containing it to the garage.

The occupants evacuated the residence safely. No injuries were reported among firefighters. One bystander was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.

Lake Havasu City Fire Department CERT responded with 12 members to assist with firefighter rehabilitation operations. Desert Hills Fire Department provided station coverage within Lake Havasu City to ensure continued response to other 911 calls during the incident.

Crews remained on scene for an additional two hours, conducting overhaul and salvage operations. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
