May 05, 2025

Lake Havasu City invites residents to take an active role in the process of Lake Havasu City government by volunteering to serve on one of several City Boards and Commissions. The City Clerk’s Office is now accepting applications from citizens interested in contributing their time, experience, and insight into local government. Multiple seats are currently available.

The Board of Adjustment has three regular positions and one alternate position open. This Board is responsible for hearing and deciding appeals related to actions taken by the Zoning Administrator.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking five new members to provide recommendations to the City Council regarding the planning, development, and maintenance of City parks and recreational programs.

The Planning and Zoning Commission is looking to fill three regular positions and one alternate position; this Commission advises the City Council on how land and buildings should be used within Lake Havasu City for both current and future development.

Additionally, one citizen member position is available on the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Boards, which oversee matters related to eligibility, service credits, and benefits for public safety personnel.

This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community and help guide important decisions that impact the lives of Lake Havasu City residents.

Residents interested in applying should have a general understanding of the issues relevant to the board or commission they wish to join.

Applications are available at City Hall at the address below or online at the link below. All applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024. The application packet includes profiles of each of the boards, committees, and commissions and helpful information about the purpose and requirements for each board.
