At approximately 6:27 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026, the homeowner reported a fire in the 2900 block of Dogwood Drive. The occupants discovered smoke and fire in the garage and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported a working garage fire with smoke coming from around the closed garage doors and from all attic vents. Five engine companies, a Battalion Chief, and a medic unit responded to the fire and gained control in approximately 39 minutes. The occupants were alerted by smoke detectors and evacuated the house safely. There was one minor injury to a firefighter. LHCFD CERT responded with several members to the fire to assist with firefighter rehab. The Desert Hills Fire Department moved up to Lake Havasu City to assist with multiple other 911 calls during the incident. Crews remained on the scene for an additional 3.5 hours, conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
