STRUCTURE FIRE

At approximately 8:40 am on Sunday, March 26, 2023, a fire was reported by the neighbor in the 1000 block of Rolling Hills Dr.  The neighbor discovered smoke and flames coming from a broken front window of the residence. The first arriving fire company reported heavy involvement to the interior of the residence with possible attic involvement.  Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 25 minutes. 

During fire crews initial search of the involved interior of the residence a victim was located, extricated, and transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center in critical condition. There were no reported injuries to firefighters. LHCFD CERT responded to the fire with thirteen members to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters.  Desert Hills Fire Department moved up to Lake Havasu City to assist with other 911 calls during the incident. Crews remained on the scene an additional five hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
