TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MULTIPLE DRUG ARRESTS

On November 2, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit were conducting a traffic stop in the Alley behind the 3500 block of Maricopa Avenue when the driver of the vehicle tossed an object outside the passenger window. During the traffic stop, the item tossed out the window was recovered by officers and contained approximately 92 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The driver, identified as 52-year old Lake Havasu City resident Shad Haddad, was ultimately arrested.

On November 2, 2023, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3600 block of Challenger Drive. During the search warrant, several items of drug paraphernalia, a small amount of methamphetamine, and a firearm were located.

As a result of the investigation, Shad Haddad was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and three counts of misconduct with a weapon. During his initial appearance, Haddad was held on a $50,000.00 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Elizabeth Starheim, a 58-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. During her initial appearance, Starheim was held on a $5,000.00 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Watland, a 56-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. During his initial appearance, Watland was released on his own recognizance.
