Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 3 to 14.  This may be due in part to the fact that nearly 73% of child restraints are not installed correctly.  The Lake Havasu City Fire Department- Prevention Division is here to help!

We offer a car seat class and free car seat checks for anyone wanting education on this very important safety issue.  When available, we offer free car seats to those who qualify and cannot afford one; participation in a car seat class is required.  Please call the Public Education office for an appointment.

Private classes for children who have misused fire or have an interest in fire.  The children are taught about burn injuries and safe behaviors.  Parents and caregivers are instructed on how to keep their home safe from such activity.

Classes are provided by Gina Gutierrez-Public Education Specialist, who is an Arizona and NFPA certified Fire & Life Safety Educator III and a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.
