Bladdersage is shrub distinctive for its calyx lobes that develop into small bladder-like shells around its fruits. This delicate, 3 foot tall bush has intricately arranged purple flowers making it almost look ghostly. Although this shrub is thorn-less, its branches’ tips can become spiny.
