California Pepper Tree
CALIFORNIA PEPPER TREE
Schinus molle

The largest tree of the Schinus species is a quick growing evergreen tree with bright fruits that are often sold as “pink peppercorns.” Despite this tree’s name, it is unrelated to true pepper trees. The California Pepper Tree is also a good candidate for use as an alternative to synthetic pest control as it has natural insecticidal properties.
