Desert Carpet Creeping Acacia
DESERT CARPET CREEPING ACACIA
Acacia redolens 'Desert Carpet'

Desert Carpet Creeping Acacia is a perennial with an intensely prostate growth habit, and therefore, will require far less pruning if placed in an area in which its branches can spread to its full potential. In lower Arizona deserts such as Lake Havasu City, it is recommended to place this groundcover under partial shade, as it can have a difficult time growing in areas with extremely hot surface temperatures.

MORE COMMENTS
Thorns: No
Allergies: Moderately allergenic
Tolerant of alkaline soils, although the phyllodes tend to yellow somewhat in wet soils of high alkalinity and salinity. Chelate micronutrient fertilizers will correct this problem quickly, but are rarely required.
