Desert Olive, also known as New Mexico Privet, can be trained as a large shrub, or a small tree. Female Desert Olives produce large amounts of blue-black berries which attract wildlife, especially birds. This deciduous tree drops its leaves in the fall exposing smooth, pale gray trunks in the winter months.
