Desert Sand Verbena
DESERT SAND VERBENA
Abronia villosa

Desert Sand Verbena is an annual soft-haired, sticky plant with a very sweet smell. Its magenta to lavender-pink, trumpet-shaped flowers stand erect of the rest of the prostate mass of the plant in conspicuous clusters providing a beautiful showy display of color in the desert. This groundcover (along with other Verbena Species) makes for a good alternative to Lantana species which have poisonous sap.
