Fremonts Barberry
FREMONT'S BARBERRY
Berberis fremontii

Although Fremont's Barberry is a Mojave native, it is typically only found in transition zones between 3,000 to 7,000 foot elevations. Therefore, it may not be appropriate for extremely drought-ridden, desert areas. The Apache Indians used Berberis fremontii for ceremonial purposes; the Hopi used it medicinally to heal gums.
