Side Oats Grama
SIDE-OATS GRAMA
Bouteloua curtipendula

Side-oats Grama gets its name from the small, oat-like seeds that develop on the side of its stalks. Bracts hang uniformly from one side of the stem while brilliant red-purple anthers dangle below, and delicate white stigmas protrude above. Side-oats is a warm season grass that makes a good companion for spring-blooming wildflowers as it remains short in the spring time.
