A common tree in southwestern deserts, the Smoke Tree is named for its general smoky gray appearance. When in bloom, Smoke Tree becomes covered with a profusion of violet to indigo flower spikes making it a beautiful ornamental tree. The Smoke Tree is an especially valuable tree for Bumble Bees.
