The Lake Havasu City Police Department has seen an increase in reports of thefts from vehicles throughout Lake Havasu City. These thefts have primarily occurred at night and are believed to involve vehicles left unlocked while parked in residential areas.

Lake Havasu City will host a dedication and grand opening for the new Lake Havasu City Municipal Courthouse on February 29, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 92 Acoma Blvd. Speakers will include Chief Justice Robert M. Brutinel, of the Arizona Supreme Court, Mohave County Presiding Judge Steve Moss, Congressman Gosar’s district 9 Director, Penny Pew, Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy, and Judge Mitchell Kalauli, City Magistrate. Vice Chief Justice Ann A. Scott Timmer, Judicial officers, and City Councilmembers will be in attendance.

Meeting is held in the Council Chambers at the Police Department located at 2360 McCulloch Blvd North.

In an effort to improve our roadways, The Lake Havasu City Maintenance Services Division has scheduled a pavement repair for Acoma Blvd. North at Rainbow Ave. South. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 19, and Tuesday. February 20, 2024, between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The work will require lane closures and shifts. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes, allow themselves extra travel time and follow all construction signage.

Lake Havasu City has received approximately $810,681.00 in FY2024 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account (RA) for the purpose of homeowner-occupied rehabilitation. Lake Havasu City also intends to apply for $500,000 in FY2024 CDBG funds from the State Special Projects (SSP) account. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need.

City offices are closed on Monday, February 19, in observance of the Presidents Day Holiday. Police and Fire Department services are unaffected, however administrative offices are closed. The Aquatic Center is open for their normally scheduled exercise and lap swim sessions. All City offices will resume normal schedules on Tuesday, February 20. Trash and Recycling schedules are not interrupted.

The Lake Havasu City Fire Department is pleased to announce the selection of Garrett Roberts as the new Deputy Fire Chief of Administration. This appointment resulted from a nationwide search process involving highly qualified candidates inside and outside the fire department.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is currently investigating a fatal vehicle collision in the area of McCulloch Blvd S. and State Route 95. On February 12, 2024, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers observed a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Acoma Blvd S. and Demaret Dr. where a traffic stop was attempted but the Camaro fled from officers and was not pursued.
