Babysitting Classes Designed for 11 to 15 Year Olds

The Lake Havasu City Fire Prevention Bureau will be hosting babysitting classes during the months of June and July 2017 at Fire Station No. 1, 96 Acoma Blvd S, Lake Havasu City, AZ. 

This class teaches young teens, between 11 to 15 years of age, everything they need to know to stay safe and sound while they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.  Class instructions will provide students valuable information such as, babysitting as a business, safety and injury prevention, leadership, playtime, basic caregiving skills, and first aid.  This class offers valuable resources for the beginner babysitter up to the novice babysitter.

Registration opens Monday, May 15.  If you or someone you know is interested in enrolling in the babysitting class, you may register online at www.register.lhcaz.gov or in person at the Aquatic Center located at 100 Park Avenue, Lake Havasu City, AZ.  In order to register for the babysitting class a completed form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.  Cost for the class is $30 per student (non-refundable) and is required to reserve the student’s seat.  Class size is limited.  Registration will continue until all classes meet their maximum capacity. 

Dates available for the babysitting classes are June 8-9, June 12-13, June 14-15, June 21-22, June 28-29, July 6-7, July 12-13, and July 26-27.  Each class will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for two consecutive days.  It is recommended that each student bring a snack and water to class.
